اللّعان:
[في الانكليزية] oath ending by a malediction
[ في الفرنسية] serment se terminant par La maLediction
شرعا شهادات مؤكّدة بالأيمان من الجانبين أى الزوج والزوجة موثّقة باللّعن في جانبه أي جانب الزوج وبالغضب في جانبها أي جانب الزوجة. وإنّما سمّي به مع أنّه ليس اللّعن إلّا في آخر كلامه تغليبا أو لأنّ الغضب قائم مقام اللّعن، وهو في جانبه يقوم مقام حدّ القذف وفي جانبها مقام حدّ الزنا كذا في جامع الرموز.
