كأنه تثنية القنان، كذا جاء في شعر لبيد حيث قال:
وولّى كنصل السيف يبرق متنه ... على كلّ إجريّا يشقّ الخمايلا
فنكّب حوضي ما يهمّ بوردها ... يمرّ بصحراء القنانين خاذلا
