القَمْهَدُ: اللَّئيمُ الأصلِ، القبيحُ الوجْهِ، وبالضم: المقيمُ الذي لا يَبْرَحُ.
واقْمَهَدَّ: رَفَعَ رأسَه،
وـ بالمكان: أقامَ، وهو شِبْهُ ارْتِعادٍ في الفَرْخِ إذا زُقَّ.
