القَدْفُ: النَّزْحُ، والصَّبُّ، وغَرْفُ الماءِ من الحَوْضِ، أو من شيءٍ يَصُبُّهُ، وأصْلُ كَرَبِ النَّخْل، وهو الذي قُطِعَ عنه الجَريدُ وبَقِيَتْ له أطْرافٌ طِوالٌ. وكغُرابٍ: الجَفْنَةُ، وجَرَّةٌ من فَخَّارٍ.
