بفتح أوله وثانيه، وسكون الواو، وسكون السين، فالتقى ساكنان لأنها عجمية، وياء مثناة من تحت مفتوحة، وآخره جيم: موضع من أعمال بادوريا أدخل المنصور في عمارة بغداد أكثره.
