الفَتْح على الإمام: هو تلقينه عند احتياجه إليه ممن يقتديه، وهو المراد في قول أنس رضي الله عنه: "كنا نفتح على الأئمة على عهد رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - "، وفي قوله عليه الصلاة والسلام: "إذا استطعتم الإمام فأطْعموه".
