العَبْشُ والعَمْشُ: الصَّلاحُ في كلِّ شيءٍ، يقالُ: الخِتانُ عَبْشٌ للصبيِّ، ويقالُ: الخِتانُ صَلاحٌ للصبِيِّ، فاعْبُشوهُ واعْمُشُوهُ، والغَبَاوَةُ، ويُحَرَّكُ.
وبه عَبْشَةٌ وعَبَشَةٌ: غَفْلَةٌ.
