الطرْفِسَاءُ الظلْمَةُ، طَرْفَسَ الليْلُ. وطَرْفَسَ المَوْرِدُ: كَدَّرَتْه الوَارِدَةُ.
وماءٌ مُطَرْفِسٌ: كَثِيرُ الوارِدَةِ. وطَرْفَسَتِ السمَاءُ: غَيَّمَتْ. والطِّرْفِسَانُ: كثيرٌ من الرمْلِ. وطَرْفَسَ في الثِّيَابِ: لَبِسَ بَعْضها في بَعْضٍ.
