الصُّوصُ، بالضم: اللَّئِيمُ يَنْزِلُ وحْدَهُ، ويأكُلُ وحْدَهُ، وفي ظِلِّ القَمَرِ لِئِلاَّ يَراهُ الضَّيْفُ.
ومنه المَثَلُ: "أَصُوصٌ عليها صُوصٌ" والمُصُوصِي: من أيَّامِ العَجوزِ.
