الشَّطْسُ: الدَّهاءُ، والعِلْمُ به.
والشُّطَسِيُّ، كجُمَحِيٍّ: الرجلُ المُنْكَرُ المارِدُ الدَّاهيَةُ.
وشَطَسَ في الأرضِ: ذهبَ فيها.
والشُّطْسَةُ والشُّطْسُ، بضمهما: الخِلافُ. وكصَبورٍ: المُخالفُ لما أُمِرَ، والذاهِبُ في ناحِيةٍ.
