الشُّهود: جمعُ شاهد وأيضاً مصدر وهو عند أهل الحقيقة رؤية الحق بالحق، وشهودُ الجمعة إدراكُها.
الشهيد: هو كل مسلم طاهر بالغ قُتل ظلماً ولم يجب به مالٌ ولم يرتثَّ.
