الزكاة: في اللغة الطهارةُ والزيادة. وفي الشرع: تمليك جزء مال عيَّنه الشارع من مسلم فقير غيرِ هاشمي ولا مولاه بشرط قطع المنفعة عن المُملَّك من كل وجه لِلَّه تعالى. وفي البدائع: "ركن الزكاة هو إخراج جزء من النصاب إلى الله تعالى وتسليم ذلك إليه يقطع المالك يده عنه بتمليكه من الفقير، وتسليمه إليه أو إلى يدِ مَن هو نائبٌ عنه وهو المُصَدِّق".
Volunteers needed (having reasonably advanced knowledge of Arabic, and relatively good English): There are 20-40 dictionaries that can be added to The Arabic Lexicon once the digital versions are reviewed and any necessary corrections carried out (sometimes this can be done in a few hours).
