بضم الجيم وكسر الراء المهملة معربها گوارش. والجوارن بالنون تصحيف معناه الهاضم للطعام. والفرق بينه وبين المعجون أنّ المعجون يكون مرة وحلوة وطيبة ومنتنة، والجوارش لا يكون إلّا عذبة طيبة الرائحة كذا في بحر الجواهر.
