الجفاء: بالضم، ما يرمي به القدر أو الوادي إلى جوانبه، ومنه جفا السرج عن ظهر الدابة تباعد عنه. والجفاء بالفتح، الغلظ في العشرة والخرق في المعاملة وترك الرفق في الأمور.
