الثنتان: التَّاء فِيهِ بدل من لَام الْكَلِمَة أَعنِي الْيَاء لِأَنَّهُ من الثني. وَأما التَّاء فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ فَهِيَ للتأنيث لِأَن همزَة الْوَصْل عوض مِنْهَا أَي من الْيَاء.
