هو عند الحكماء قسم من الإدراك وهو إدراك المعاني الغير المحسوسة من الكيفيات والإضافات المخصوصة بالشيء الجزئي الموجودة في المادة لا يشاركه فيها غيره، فيشترط فيه كون المدرك جزئيا كما في الإحساس والتّخييل، ولا يشترط حضور المادّة بخلاف الإحساس، ولا اكتناف الهيئات بخلاف التّخييل، كذا في شرح الإشارات وقد سبق في لفظ الإحساس أيضا.
