البِضْع والبَضعة: المنقطع من العشرة ويقال ذلك لما بين الثلاثة إلى العشرة، وقيل: بل هو فوق الخمس ودون العشرة قال تعالى: {بِضْعِ سِنِينَ} [الروم:4]، والبُضع بالضم: كناية عن الفرج، وأيضاً هو اسمُ المباضعة بمعنى الجماع. والبِضعة بالفتح وقد تكسر قطعة من اللحم.
