البَهْزُ، كالمَنْعِ: الدَّفْعُ العَنيفُ، والضَّرْبُ في الصَّدْرِ باليَدِ والرِّجْلِ، أو بِكِلْتَى اليَدَيْنِ.
ورَجُلٌ مِبْهَزٌ: دَفَّاعٌ.
وبَهْزٌ: حَيٌّ، منهم: الحجَّاجُ بنُ عِلاَطٍ، وضَمْرَةُ بنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ البَهْزِيَّانِ الصَّحابيانِ.
