البَغْثَرُ: الأَحْمَقُ، الضَّعيفُ، الثَّقيلُ الوَخْمُ، والرَّجُلُ الوَسِخُ، والجَمَلُ الضَّخْمُ، وابنُ لَقيطٍ الشاعِرُ الجاهِلِيُّ، وبالهاءِ: خُبْثُ النَّفْسِ، والهَيْجُ، والاخْتِلاطُ، والتَّفْريقُ. وبُغْثُرٌ الكَلْبِيُّ، كعُصْفُرٍ.
وبَغْثَرَهُ: بَعْثَرَهُ،
وـ نفسُه: خَبُثَتْ وغَثَتْ،
كتَبَغْثَرَتْ.
