البراآت: جمع براءة هي الأوراق التي يكتبها كتَّاب الديوان على العاملين على البلاد بخط العطاء، أو على الأكَّارين بقدر ما عليهم، وأصل البراءة: السلاسة من الذنب والعيب وغيرِهما والتخلُّصُ من الشبهة.
