الأَهْنافُ: خاصٌّ بالنِّساءِ، وهو ضَحِكٌ في فُتورٍ كضَحِكِ المُسْتَهْزِئِ،
كالمُهانَفَةِ والتَّهانُف والهِنافِ، ككِتابٍ، والإِسْراعُ،
كالتَّهْنيفِ، وتَهَيُّؤُ الصَّبِيِّ للبُكاءِ.
والمُهانَفَةُ: المُلاعَبَةُ.
