بالكسر، وراء ساكنة، وباء موحدة:
مدينة في شرقي الأندلس، ينسب إليها أبو العباس يوسف بن محمد بن فارو الإشكربي، ولد باشكرب ونشأ بجيّان فانتسب إليها، وسافر إلى خراسان وأقام ببلخ إلى أن مات بها في سنة 548.
