أَفْعَلُ: وأفعل يقع منك على الذكر والأنثى؛ مذكراً في لفظه لا يدخله التأنيث البتة. ولك أن تنزل ما يكنى به عنه من ذكران وإناث مذكراً على اللفظ وموحداً؛ فتقول: زيد أفضل منك والزيدان أفضل منك والزيدون أفضل منك، وهند أفضل منك، والهندان أفضل منك والهندات أفضل منك، وأفضلهم قال ذلك. وإذا تبعت اللفظ لم تثن ولم تجمع ولم تؤنث. وإن أردت إظهار المعنى فلك أن تقول: أفضلهم قالا، وأفضلهم قالوا، وأفضلهن قالت، وأفضلهن قالتا، وأفضلهن قلن.
