(أَشَّ) الْهَمْزَةُ وَالشِّينُ يَدُلُّ عَلَى الْحَرَكَةِ لِلِّقَاءِ. قَالَ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ: أَشَّ الْقَوْمُ يَؤُشُّونَ أشًّا: إِذَا قَامَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ لِلشَّرِّ لَا لِلْخَيْرِ. وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ: الْأَشَاشُ مِثْلُ الْهَشَاشِ. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: «كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ بَعْضَ الْأَشَاشِ وَعَظَهُمْ» .
