الأصول: جمع أصل، وهو في اللغة: عبارة عما يفتقر إليه، ولا يفتقر هو إلى غيره. وفي الشرع عبارة عما يبنى عليه غيره، ولا يبنى هو على غيره، والأصل: ما يثبت حكمه بنفسه ويبنى على غيره.
