أتب
الإتْبُ: شَيْء لا رِبَاطَ له كالتِّكَّةِ؛ وهو قَمِيْصٌ غَيْرُ مَخِيْطِ الجانِبَيْنِ، وهو المِئْتَبَةُ أيضاً. وقيل: الإتْبُ الدَرْعُ، وجَمْعُه آتَابٌ وأتُوْب. وائْتَتَبَتِ المرأةُ: لَبِسَتِ الِإتْبَ. وأتبْتُها: دَرَّعْتُها. والتأتُّبُ: الاسْتِعْدَادُ.
وتَأتَبَ قَوْسَه: وهو أن يُخْرِجَ مَنْكِبَيْه من حَمَالَةِ قَوْسِه. والمُؤَتَبُ الظَّهْرِ: الأحْنَفُ المائلُ. وتَأتبَ السلاَحَ: تَقَلَّدَه وقَوِيَ على احْتِمَالِه. وتَأتَبَ: تَصَلبَ وتَشَددَ.
