[كعبر] الكعبرة: واحدة الكعابر، وهو شئ يخرج من الطعام إذا نُقِّيَ غليظُ الرأس مجتمعٌ، ومنه سميت رءوس العظام الكَعابرَ. ويقال: كعبره بالسيف، أي قطعه، ومنه سمى المكعبر الضبى، لانه ضرب قوما بالسيف.
