التُّرْكُمانُ، بالضم: فجيلٌ من التُّرْكِ، سُمُّوا به لأَنهم آمَنَ منهم مِئَتا ألْفٍ في شهرٍ واحدٍ، فقالوا: تُرْكُ إيمانٍ،
ثم خُفِّفَ فقيلَ: تُرْكُمان.
ثم خُفِّفَ فقيلَ: تُرْكُمان.
