الاحتباك: هو أن يجتمع في الكلام متقابلان، ويحذف من كل واحد منهما مقابله؛ لدلالة الآخر عليه، كقوله: عَلفتها تِبْنًا وماءً باردًا. أي: علفتها تِبْنًا، وسقيتها ماءً باردًا.
