الــيسر: عمل لا يجهد النفس، ولا يثقل الجسم. والعسر ما يجهد النفس ويضر الجسم، قاله الحرالي. وقال مرة أخرى: الــيسر حصول الشيء عفوا بلا كلفة. وقال غيره: اليسار والــيسرة بالفتح: الجهة والغنى والثروة. والــيسر ضد العسر.
