بظ: بَظَّ يَبُظُّ بَظّاً: وهو تَحْرِيْكُ الــضّارِبِ أوْتَارَه لِيُهَيِّئَها للضَّرْبِ.

وبَظَّ على كذا: ألَحَّ عليه.

وإنَّه لَفَظٌّ بَظٌّ: أي غَلِيْظٌ جَهْمٌ.

والبَظِيْظُ: السَّمِيْنُ النّاعِمُ. وأَبَظَّ إبْظَاظاً: سَمِنَ.
