رَهَفَ السَّيْفَ، كمَنَعَ: رَقَّقَهُ،
كأَرْهَفَهُ،
ورَهُفَ، ككَرُمَ، رَهافَةً ورَهَفاً، مُحرَّكةً: دَقَّ ولَطُفَ.
وفَرَسٌ مُرْهَفٌ، كمُكْرَمٍ: خَامِصُ البَطْنِ، مُتَقارِبُ الضُّلوعِ، وهو عَيْبٌ.
والرُّهافَةُ، كثُمامَةٍ: ع.

(رَهَفَ)
(س) فِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا «كَانَ عامرُ بْنُ الطُّفَيْلِ مَرْهُوفَ البدَن» أَيْ لطيفَ الجْسم دَقيقَه. يُقَالُ رَهَفْتُ السيفَ وأَرْهَفْتُهُ فَهُوَ مَرْهُوفٌ ومُرْهَفٌ: أَيْ رقَّقْت حَواشيه، وأكْثَر مَا يُقَالُ مُرْهَفٌ.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا «أمرَنى رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ آتِيَه بمُدْية، فأتيتُه بِهَا، فأرسَل بِهَا فَأُرْهِفَتْ» أَيْ سُنَّت وأُخْرج حَدَّاهَا.
(س) وَفِي حَدِيثِ صَعْصَعَةَ بْنِ صُوحان «إِنِّي لأتركُ الْكَلَامَ مِمَّا أُرْهِف بِهِ» أَيْ لَا أركبُ البَدِيهة، وَلَا أقطعُ الْقَوْلَ بِشَيْءٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ أتأمَّله وأُرَوِّى فِيهِ. ويُرْوى بِالزَّايِ مِنَ الإزْهاف: الاستِقْدام.
