وَزَف: جنس من السمك صغير أورده (بليسييه 451) في حديثه عن أنواعه وقال: (نوع صغير جداً لم أتمكن من تصنيفه يدعوه العرب وزف ouzef) ( معجم المنصوري): أرببان ضرب من السمك صغير أبيض وهذا صفة السمك المسمى بأفريقية الوزَفُ فلعله أو شبيه به. وفي مادة سميكات: جنس من صغار السمك المملّح غير معروف في المغرب ولعله الورف أو من نوعه (كذا). أنظر وَرْق.
