سطعت الهبوة والهبوات. وصار هباءً وهو دقاق التراب الساطع في الجوّ كالدخان وما ينبث في ضوء الشمس. وتراب ورماد هاب. قال مالك بن الرّيب:

ترى جدثاً قد جرّت الريح فوقه ... تراباً كلون القسطلانيّ هابيا

وهبا الغبار يهبو. وأهبى الفرس: أثار الغبار.

(هَبَوَ) الْهَاءُ وَالْبَاءُ وَالْحَرْفُ الْمُعْتَلُّ: كَلِمَةٌ تَدُلُّ عَلَى غَبَرَةٍ وَرِقَّةٍ فِيهَا. .

مِنْهُ الْهَبْوَةُ: الْغَبَرَةُ. وَهَبَا الْغُبَارُ يَهْبُو فَهُوَ هَابٍ: سَطَعَ. وَالْهَبَاءُ: دُقَاقُ التُّرَابِ. قَالَ:

تَزَوَّدَ مِنَّا بَيْنَ أُذْنَاهُ ضَرْبَةً ... دَعَتْهُ إِلَى هَابِي التُّرَابِ عَقِيمُ

وَهَبَا الرَّمَادُ: اخْتَلَطَ بِالتُّرَابِ وَهَمَدَ. وَالشَّيْءُ الْمُنْبَثُّ الَّذِي تَرَاهُ فِي ضَوْءِ الشَّمْسِ: هَبَاءٌ.
