(نَوَّهَ) النُّونُ وَالْوَاوُ وَالْهَاءُ كَلِمَةٌ تَدُلُّ عَلَى سُمُوٍّ وَارْتِفَاعٍ. وَنَاهَ النَّبَاتُ: ارْتَفَعَ. وَنَاهَتِ النَّاقَةُ: رَفَعَتْ رَأْسَهَا وَصَاحَتْ. وَمِنْهُ نُهْتُ بِالشَّيْءِ وَنَوَّهْتُ: رَفَعْتُ ذِكْرَهُ. وَيَقُولُونَ: نَاهَتْ نَفْسُهُ: قَوِيَتْ.
