(ن ج ش) : (النَّجَشُ) بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ أَنْ تَسْتَامَ السِّلْعَةَ بِأَزْيَدَ مِنْ ثَمَنِهَا وَأَنْتَ لَا تُرِيدُ شِرَاءَهَا لِيَرَاكَ الْآخَرُ فَيَقَعَ فِيهِ وَكَذَلِكَ فِي النِّكَاحِ وَغَيْرِهِ (وَمِنْهُ) الْحَدِيثُ «نَهَى عَنْ النَّجْشِ» وَرُوِيَ بِالسُّكُونِ «وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا» لَا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلُهُ مِنْ نَجْشِ الصَّيْدِ وَهُوَ إثَارَتُهُ (وَالنَّجَاشِيُّ) مَلِكُ الْحَبَشَةِ بِتَخْفِيفِ الْيَاءِ سَمَاعًا مِنْ الثِّقَاتِ وَهُوَ اخْتِيَارُ الْفَارَابِيِّ عَنْ صَاحِبِ التَّكْمِلَةِ بِالتَّشْدِيدِ وَعَنْ الْغُورِيِّ كِلْتَا اللُّغَتَيْنِ وَأَمَّا تَشْدِيدُ الْجِيمِ فَخَطَأٌ وَاسْمُهُ أَصْحَمَةُ وَالسِّينُ تَصْحِيفٌ.
