(ك ر ز) : (الْكَرِيزُ) الْأَقِطُ بِوَزْنِ الْكَرِيمِ (وَبِهِ) سُمِّيَ جَدُّ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ (كَرِيزٍ) الْخُزَاعِيِّ فِي السِّيَرِ تَابِعِيٌّ يَرْوِي عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - وَعَنْهُ حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ هَكَذَا فِي النَّفْيِ.

(كَرَزَ) الْكَافُ وَالرَّاءُ وَالزَّاءُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى اخْتِبَاءٍ وَتَسَتُّرٍ وَلِوَاذٍ، يُقَالُ: كَارَزَ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ، إِذَا مَالَ إِلَيْهِ وَاخْتَبَأَ فِيهِ. وَأَنْشَدَ: إِلَى جَنْبِ الشَّرِيعَةِ كَارِزُ

وَكَارَزَ [عَنْ] فُلَانٍ، إِذَا فَرَّ عَنْهُ وَاخْتَبَأَ مِنْهُ. وَأَمَّا الْكُرْزُ فَهُوَ الْجُوَالِقُ; وَسُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ لِأَنَّهُ يُخْبَأُ فِيهِ الشَّيْءُ. وَقَوْلُ رُؤْبَةَ:

كَالْكُرَّزِ الْمَرْبُوطِ بَيْنَ الْأَوْتَادْ

فَهَذَا فَارِسِيٌّ مُعَرَّبٌ. يَقُولُونَ: الْكُرَّزُ: الْبَازِي فِي سَنَتِهِ الثَّانِيَةِ. وَالْكَرَّازُ: كَبْشٌ يُعَلِّقُ عَلَيْهِ الرَّاعِي كُرْزَهُ، وَهُوَ شَيْءٌ لَهُ كَالْجُوَالِقِ. فَأَمَّا الْكَرِيزُ وَهُوَ الْأَقِطُ، فَلَيْسَ مِنَ الْبَابِ، لِأَنَّهُ مِنَ الْإِبْدَالِ وَالْأَصْلُ فِيهِ الصَّادُ.
