هو: علم يبحث فيه عن: أحوال الجوارح، من حيث حفظ صحتها، وإزالة مرضها، ومعرفة العلامات الدالة على قوتها في الصيد، وضعفها فيه.
وموضوعه، وغايته: ظاهرة.
و (كتاب القانون الواضح) كاف في هذا العلم.
كذا في (مفتاح السعادة).
