(رَسَنَ) الرَّاءُ وَالسِّينُ وَالنُّونُ أَصْلٌ وَاحِدٌ اشْتَرَكَ فِيهِ الْعَرَبُ وَالْعَجَمُ، وَهُوَ الرَّسَنُ، وَالْجَمْعُ أَرْسَانٌ. وَالْمَرْسِنُ: الَّذِي يَقَعُ عَلَيْهِ الرَّسَنُ مِنْ أَنْفِ النَّاقَةِ، ثُمَّ كَثُرَ حَتَّى قِيلَ مَرْسِنُ الْإِنْسَانِ. وَرَسَنْتُ الرَّجُلَ وَأَرْسَنْتُهُ: شَدَدْتُهُ بِالرَّسَنِ.
