بفتح الشين المعجمة، والباء الموحدة، والحوشب في اللغة: موصل الوظيف في رسغ الدّابة، قال الأصمعي: الحوشب عظيم كالسّلامى صغير في طرف الوظيف ومستقر الحافر يدخل في الجبّة.
وحوشب: من مخاليف اليمن.
