[ت ن ن] التِّنُّ: التِّرْبُ، وقيل: الشِّبْهُ، وقيل: الصاحبُ، والجمعُ: أَتْنانٌ. والتَّنُّ، والتِّنُّ: الصَّبِىُّ الذي أَقِصَعَه المَرَضُ، وقد أَتَنَّهُ. وتَنَّ بالمكانِ: أقامَ عن ثَعْلَبٍ. والتِّتٍّ ينُ: ضَرْبٌ من الحَيّاتِ كأَكْبَرِ ما يَكُونُ منها. والتِّنِّينُ: نَجْمٌ، وهو عَلَى التِّشْبِيِه بالحَيِّهِ.
