السعْي: الإسراع في المشي وهو دون العَدْو ويستعمل للجِدّ في الأمر خيراً كان أو شراً قال الراغب: "وخُصَّ السعي فيما بين الصفا والمروةِ والسِّعايةُ بالنميمية وبأخذ الصدقة وبكسب المكاتَب لعتق رقبته".
