ء ن ف : أَنِفَ مِنْ الشَّيْءِ أَنَفًا مِنْ بَابِ تَعِبَ وَالِاسْمُ الْأَنَفَةُ مِثْلُ قَصَبَةٍ أَيْ اسْتَنْكَفَ وَهُوَ الِاسْتِكْبَارُ وَأَنِفَ مِنْهُ تَنَزَّهَ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَبُو زَيْدٍ أَنِفْت مِنْ قَوْلِهِ أَشَدَّ الْأَنَفِ إذَا كَرِهْت مَا قَالَ وَالْأَنْفُ الْمَعْطِسُ وَالْجَمْعُ آنَافٌ عَلَى أَفْعَالٍ وَأُنُوفٌ وَآنُفٌ مِثْلُ فُلُوسٍ وَأَفْلُس وَأَنْفُ الْجَبَلِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ.

وَرَوْضَةٌ أُنُفٌ بِضَمَّتَيْنِ أَيْ جَدِيدَةُ النَّبْتِ لَمْ تُرْعَ.

وَاسْتَأْنَفْت الشَّيْءَ أَخَذْت فِيهِ وَابْتَدَأْته وَأَتْنَفْتُهُ كَذَلِكَ.
