[وكس] الوَكْسُ: النقصُ. وقد وَكَسَ الشئ يكس. وفى الحديث: " لها مَهْرُ مثلها لا وَكْسُ ولا شطط "، أي لا نقصان ولا زيادة. وقد وَكَسْتُ فلاناً: نَقَصْتُهُ. وبَرَأَتِ الشَجَّةُ على وَكْسٍ، إذا بقى في جوفها شئ. يقال: وُكِسَ فلان في تجارته، وأُوكِسَ أيضاً على ما لم يسمَّ فاعله فيهما، أي خسر.
