وشَظَ الفأسَ، كَوَعَدَ: ضَيَّقَ خُرْتَها بِخَشَبٍ،
وـ العَظْمَ: كسر منه قِطْعَةً،
وـ القومُ إِلْينا: لَحِقُوا بنا، فَصارُوا مَعَنا، وهُمْ قليلٌ.
وواشَظَا وتَواشَظَا: أنْعَظَا، فَعَصَرَ كلٌّ ذَكَرَه في بَطْنِ صاحِبِه. وكأَميرٍ: الأَتْباعُ، والخَدَمُ، والأحْلافُ، ولَفيفٌ مِن الناسِ ليس أصْلُهم واحداً، وبالهاءِ: قِطْعَةُ عَظْمٍ تكونُ زِيادَةً في العَظْمِ الصَّميمِ، وقِطْعَةُ خَشَبٍ يُشْعَب بها القَدَحُ.
وهُمْ وشِيظةٌ في قَوْمهم: حَشْوٌ فيهم.

(وَشَظَ) الْوَاوُ وَالشِّينُ وَالظَّاءُ: قِيَاسٌ وَاحِدٌ، وَهُوَ إِلْصَاقُ شَيْءٍ بِشَيْءٍ لَيْسَ مِنْهُ. وَالْوَشِيظُ: عُظَيْمٌ يَكُونُ زِيَادَةً فِي الْعَظْمِ الصَّمِيمِ، وَلِذَلِكَ يُقَالُ لِمَنِ انْتَمَى إِلَى قَوْمٍ لَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ: وَشِيظٌ. وَشَظْتُ الْفَأْسَ أَشِظُهَا: ضَيَّقْتُ خُرْتَهَا مِنْ عَيْرِ نِصَابِهَا. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ.
