[كمع] الكَميعُ: الضجيعُ، وكذلك الكِمْعُ بالكسر. قال عنترة: وسَيفي كالعَقيقةِ فهو كِمْعي * سلاحي لا أفَلَّ ولا فُطارا * أي ليس فيه تشقق. وكامعه، مثل ضاجعه. والمكامعة التي نُهي عنها في الحديث: أن يضاجع الرجلُ الرجلَ لا ستر بينهما.

(كَمَعَ) الْكَافُ وَالْمِيمُ وَالْعَيْنُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى اطْمِئْنَانٍ وَسُكُونٍ. زَعَمُوا أَنَّ الْكِمْعَ: الْبَيْتُ; يُقَالُ هُوَ فِي كِمْعِهِ أَيْ بَيْتِهِ. وَسُمِّيَ كَمْعًا لِأَنَّهُ يُسْكَنُ. وَمِنَ الْبَابِ الْكَمِيعُ، وَهُوَ الضَّجِيعُ، يُقَالُ كَامَعَهَا، إِذَا ضَاجَعَهَا. وَالْمُكَامَعَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْحَدِيثِ، وَقَدْ نُهِيَ عَنْهَا: أَنْ يُضَاجِعَ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ لَا سِتْرَ بَيْنَهُمَا.

وَقَالَ فِي الْكَمِيعِ:

وَهَبَّتِ الشَّمْأَلُ الْبَلِيلُ ... وَإِذْ بَاتَ كَمِيعُ الْفَتَاةِ مُلْتَفِعَا وَالْكِمْعُ: الْمُطْمَئِنُّ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ.
