[فلحس] أبو عبيد: الفَلْحَسُ: الحريصُ. ويقال للكلب فلحس. وفلحس أيضا: اسم رجل من بنى شيبان. وفيه المثل: " أسأل من فلحس "، زعموا أنه كان يسأل سهما في الجيش وهو في بيته، فيعطى لعزه وسؤدده، فإذا أعطيه سأل لامرأته، فإذا أعطيه سأل لبعيره.
