وناقة شَمَرْذاةٌ وشَبَرْذاةٌ: ناجية سريعة، وقد تقدم؛ وقول الشاعر:

لقد أُوقِدَتْ نارُ الشَّمَرْذَى بِأَرْو س

عِظَامِ اللِّحَى، مُعْرَنْزِماتِ اللَّهازِمِ

قال: أَحسبه نبتاً أَو شجراً.
