البيضاء: العقل الأول، فإنه مركز العمل وأول منفصل من سواد الغيب، وهو أعظم نيِّرات فلكه، فلذلك وصف بالبياض؛ ليقابل بياضه سواد الغيب، فيتبين بضده كمال التبين؛ ولأنه هو أول موجود، ويرجح وجوده على عدمه، والوجود بياض، والعدم سواد، ولذلك قال بعض العارفين في الفقر: إنه بياض يتبين فيه كل معدوم، وسوادٌ ينعدم فيه كل موجود، فإنه أراد بالفقر فقر الإمكان.
