الخواص: اسم جمع الخاصية بمعنى الأثر، يقال: ما خاصية ذلك الشيء؟ أي ما أثره الناشيء، ذكره السيد الشريف قال: وأما قول الأطباء هذا الدواء يعمل بالخاصية فقد عبروا بها عن السبب المجهول للأثر المعلوم.
